The final sequence of the play is quite eccentric from an audience member 's point of view or as a reader as the majority of the readers did not expect it.Wilde wanted his audience to understand the negative aspects of being a member of the Victorian society and how this behaviour can lead to being humiliated by employing Lady Bracknell to demonstrates this.Neverthless,it is quite ironic that the fact Lady Bracknell herself is not part of the Aristocracy from b irth ; therefore we establish that Lady Bracknell is a hypocrite by criticising Jack.

Resolution of the play.
In the play 'The importance of Being Earnest' the family issue concerning Jack Worthing is solved. In the first instance this resolution leads to Jack creating a name in the society which he was anonymous to.This is important as Lady Bracknell, which is a member of the Aristocracy neglected Jack for his insufficient status earlier in the play ends up being related to him. Moreover the attitudes and demeanor of the Victorian society is lampooned by Wilde as Lady Bracknell is shown to be a 'shortsighted' character lost in her passion of money.I believe this is the climax of the play as it creates an equilibrium in the society signifying the resolution creates a stable relationship between all characters. It was discovered that Lady Bracknell is Jack's aunty in the end. and therefore Jack is Algernon 's older brother.Consequently, this means the two characters are related.
